1. The Tales of Robin Hood.

Complete the sentences. Use the simple past.

Once upon a time there was a young man. His name was (be) Robert Locksley. When his father died (die), the Sheriff of Nottingham wanted (want) his home.
He came (come) to Robin's house with his men and took (take) all his money. Robert had (have) to flee into Sherwoood Forest.
There he met (meet) other people who called (call) him Robin. They lived (live) in the forest in caves and small huts. When they were (be) hungry they collected (collect) nuts and berries or hunted (hunt) animals. Hunting animals was (be) forbidden because all animals belonged (belong=gehören) the king. So they were (be) outlaws.
In later times people wrote (write) many stories about him.
